Success for Ipswich Road Safety Expo

It was a very successful Ipswich Road Safety Expo event on Saturday, August 19 with many Ipswich community residents visiting the static displays on offer providing information and resources on road safety.
Many road safety service providers were inundated with visits to their stalls, along with excited children wanting to experience the inside of the fire truck and police cars on offer.
There was also a police motorbike that provided parents with endless requests for photos from their children.
There was great activities for the kids, a road safety obstacle course, a 2N2 simulator for the adults and the Fatality Free Friday inflatable vehicle for everyone to sign and show their commitment to road safety.

Stolen vehicle alert, Monday August 21

In the past, many vehicles have been taken while the victims were at home.
Keys, mobile phones and cash were also stolen after thieves allegedly gained entry to homes and easily located car keys in plain view.
Police advise that residents should secure their homes and vehicles to avoid opportunistic thefts. Hiding car keys and valuables will make it difficult for offenders to steal your vehicle and other property.
Ask yourself: “Where are my car keys?”
If you can, secure your car in a garage or park your vehicle inside of your yard rather than on the street. This will also assist in the prevention of number plates being stolen.
