Karana Downs Police visit West Moreton Anglican College
Karana Downs Police attended West Moreton Anglican College last Friday and provided a presentation to Year 12 students.
The aim of the presentation was to empower the students with information about alcohol, drugs and the law. Discussions were had around their responsibilities as young adults within the community and the consequences of committing criminal offences.
Police reinforced the message that we all have the right to feel safe, all the time. Information was provided around the students identifying options, making decisions and taking steps to enable them to feel as safe as possible in any situation. That it’s O.K. to say no.
Students were encouraged to have conversations with their parents and caregivers around the supply alcohol to minors and reinforcing that young adults should not be drinking alcohol until they have reached the age of 18.
Department head of senior school, Mrs Ebbrell stated the feedback from the students on the police visit
