Beginning 13 May 2019, customers of Queensland Rail in South East Queensland can expect less waiting time as extra train services will be added, including additions to the Springfield line, to carry more passengers during the busy hours.
In response to customer feedback and after analyzing patronage data, wait times, and operational efficiencies, Queensland Rail identified 32 priority weekly services which will be added during morning and afternoon peak hours.
The extra 32 weekly services would mean additional 14,000 seats which will benefit those travelling on Redcliffe Peninsula, Cleveland, Springfield, Shorncliffe, Ferny Grove,Gold Coast, and Airport lines.

The additional weekly train services was announced ahead of timetable improvements planned this 2019. These changes will be available in the TransLink Journey Planner website beginning mid-April.
