How to keep your family strong

National Families Week celebrates the role families play in our local communities.
‘Stronger Families, Stronger Communities’ has been embraced as an enduring theme for National Families Week, encapsulating the important role families play as the central building blocks of our communities. Community wellbeing is enhanced by family wellbeing.
As National Families Week also falls in Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month, we need to ensure that we protect and nurture our families.  We need to be respectful of one another and embrace who we are, and recognise that all play an important role in and outside of our families.
Communication is the key for stronger families, and to protect them we need to act and report violence in our communities.
The Queensland Government Bystander campaign focuses on ‘When to do something, how to do something’.
If you’re worried about someone, support and assist them with resources, and encourage them to seek help. We may speak out against
