On September 3, between 9.15pm and 9.45pm, unknown offenders were driving in an unknown type of vehicle and have existed the roundabout before Bremer Parade. The vehicle has then driven close to the curb in the bike lane and the offender/s have allegedly thrown a rock at the victim hitting him in the right leg before hitting the left leg. The vehicle has then continued to drive up King Edward Parade.
Investigations are continuing.

Karana Downs Police – Keeping your community safe
Karana Downs Police would like to remind residents to be aware of what is happening in their community and to secure their property.
One of the most important things community members can do is be aware of their surroundings.
Most residents know their neighbours and the cars they drive. Recently, an alleged suspicious vehicle was mentioned in a post on a community social media page as being seen in the driveway of a Karana Downs address. Once the activity was reported to police including the registration of the vehicle, police were able to confirm with the residents that they were friends with the owner of the vehicle and there was nothing suspicious at all. It was a brand new car the friends didn’t know they had recently purchased.

Karana Downs Police join Tivoli State School in 140 year celebration
Tivoli State School, located in the Karana Downs Police Division celebrated a milestone of 140 years on Saturday.
The school is known as ‘the country school located in the city’ because of it’s location on the outskirts of the growing city of Ipswich. The children who attend the school come from the surrounding areas of Tivoli including Raymonds Hill, Moores Pocket and North Ipswich. There are approximately 140 children enrolled in the school.
The country hospitality was on full display at the celebration with plenty of family friendly activities. These included rides, art displays, bric-a-brack stalls, BBQ and bush dance. One activity which gained a lot of interest was the historical jail with trooper and Magistrate. Police were able to take part in a mock trial at the historical jail.
A fun afternoon was had by all.

Karana Downs Police visit Aussie Kindies, North Ipswich
Karana Downs Police participated in Child Protection Week by attending the North Ipswich Aussie Kindies Centre.
The children were given an ‘introduction to police’ presentation. The presentation also incorporated ‘protective behaviours’. Protective behaviours teaches children to develop personal safety skills. They were reminded that everybody has the right to feel safe all the time and to recognise when they are feeling unsafe and to seek help by developing a safety network.
The children were also encouraged to learn their full name including their first and last names and that they can seek help from police.
The children enjoyed the visit, especially the opportunity to see the police car with red and blue flashing lights and hear the loud siren.
Queensland Child Protection Week runs from September 3 to 9. It promotes the value of children and focusing attention on the issues of child abuse and neglect.

Police advise that residents should secure their homes and vehicles to avoid opportunistic thefts.
In the past, many vehicles have been taken while the victims were at home.
Keys, mobile phones and cash were also stolen after thieves allegedly gained entry to homes and easily located car keys in plain view.
Hiding car keys and valuables will make it difficult for offenders to steal your vehicle and other property.
Ask yourself, “where are my car keys?”
If you can, secure your car in a garage or park your vehicle inside of your yard rather than on the street. This will also assist in the prevention of number plates being stolen.
