The annual Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) State Conference was conducted at the Beenleigh Events Centre on Saturday, highlighting the theme Diversity is our strength.
A number of NHW volunteers from across the Ipswich District attended.
Congratulations to the overall State awards winners Sergeant Nigel Dalton of Mackay for the Liaison Officer of the Year and Mr Alwin Koo from Far North Queensland for the Neighbourhood Watch Member of the Year. Their list of achievements for the NHW program was outstanding and both were extremely deserving of the State awards.
The guest speakers were informative and entertaining and the key note speaker and Goodwill Ambassador, Ranger Stacey Thomson, was extremely engaging. Ranger Stacey brought back a lot of childhood memories for a lot of the attendees, myself included.
