Car dealerships go ‘Under the Bonnet’ for the women of Ipswich

For the past six years the Ipswich District Crime Prevention Unit Queensland Police Service, in partnership with the Car Dealerships in Ipswich namely Llewellyn and Bottchers Motors, have provided the women of Ipswich an opportunity to attend Safer Driving Workshops in November.
The Workshop outlines Personal and Road Safety by providing basic car maintenance and what is under the bonnet of a vehicle, with an aim to educate women on ‘how to change a tyre’ The program also focusing on the Fatal Five; Speeding, Drink and Drug Driving, Seatbelts, Fatigue and Distraction, Public Transport and Travelling on Queensland Roads.
The Under the Bonnet Safer Driving for Women series has been a pivotal and empowering program for women over the years who have found themselves stranded unknowingly due to either a car breakdown or a flat tyre, concerned for their vehicle and their personal safety.
