Ipswich West State School launch Healthy Active School Travel

Ipswich West State Primary school launched Healthy Active School Travel (HAST) program with Ipswich City Council and their new Adopt-a-Cop Constable Stuart Robertson from Ipswich Police.
The Ipswich City Council Active Transport Officer work together with Ipswich Police Adopt-a-Cops attached to the schools incorporating the HAST program. The program is designed to teach children the importance of keeping healthy and safe by making good, healthy life choices and focuses on personal safety and well being, physical exercise and healthy diet.
The HAST program aims to increase child safety in Ipswich by promoting better health and safety through encouraging and promoting safe bike practices, public transport safety and awareness of road safety. HAST provides tools and resources to develop healthy communities in and around schools
The children walked around the school grounds, learning about keeping safe, road safety and healthy and active school travel.
