Ipswich officers walk against domestic and family violence

Each year officers from Ipswich District join the Ipswich community and the team from Domestic Violence Action Centre (DVAC) to create awareness on the prevalence of domestic and family violence.
This years walk against domestic violence included a candle light ceremony to remember the victims lost. Over half of all homicide victims are from an intimate partner or family relationship with the offender.
This years guest speaker from the QPS was Detective Sergeant Blaise Cooper who spoke about the relevance of the walk against domestic violence, what it signifies and how police cope with attending to the jobs which are often confronting.
If you or someone you know are experiencing domestic and family violence DVAC can be contacted on 3816 3000 or email info@dvac.org.au
Please remember if you’re in an emergency dial Triple Zero (000).
Sgt Phelan, S/C Hillary and D/Sgt Cooper attend the walk against DV
