A brand-new mountain slide and erosion-resistant play mound are now open to the public following the successful revitalisation of Grande Park in Springfield Lakes.

Out with the old and in with the innovative. The local neighbourhood gathering spot has replaced an ageing play mound with a custom-built mountain slide tailored specifically for children aged three to five.

Why the sudden change? The previous structure simply reached the end of its functional life. Local leaders used the replacement project as an opportunity to fix persistent stormwater and erosion challenges while introducing tightly arranged hardwood timber logs of varying heights to test kids’ balance.
