Stolen vehicle alert, Thursday October 17

In the past, many vehicles have been taken while the victims were at home.
Keys, mobile phones and cash were also stolen after thieves allegedly gained entry to homes and easily located car keys in plain view.
Police advise that residents should secure their homes and vehicles to avoid opportunistic thefts. Hiding car keys and valuables will make it difficult for offenders to steal your vehicle and other property.
Ask yourself: “Where are my car keys?”
If you can, secure your car in a garage or park your vehicle inside of your yard rather than on the street. This will also assist in the prevention of number plates being stolen.

Manslaughter charge, Springfield Lakes

Police have charged a man following investigations into injuries resulting in the death of a man on a worksite in Springfield Lakes earlier this year.
Just before 2pm on April 10, it will be alleged a man was struck in the head by earth moving equipment and suffered serious injuries.
The 29-year-old Deagon man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he died the following day.
Workplace Health and Safety launched an investigation into the incident which has resulted in officers from Ipswich CIB, yesterday charging a 24-year-old Yarrabilba man with one count of manslaughter.
He is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court today.

Queensland Police Pipes and Drums perform at St Mary’s Primary School

On Wednesday July 26, the Queensland Police Pipes and Drums attended St Mary’s Primary School Ipswich. The Queensland Pipes and Drums performed the Kops in Kilts program for all children from Prep to Grade 6.
The children were entertained and enthralled watching and learning about the instruments used, especially the bag pipes.
The children had a lovely time and actively participated in the songs played – some children were even lucky enough to assist the band!
St Mary’s Primary School Adopt-a-Cop Constable Linette Swales was very impressed with the children’s behaviour throughout the concert.
The children and staff from St Mary’s Primary Ipswich thank the Queensland Pipes and Drums for their time.

Ipswich Station weekly wrap, August 15

It is alleged that, on August 10 at approximately 3.40pm, an unknown male offender attended the business wishing to sell a watch. The victim, a shop assistant, advised the man that further proof of address was required in order for him to be able to sell the watch. The victim has then answered a phone causing the man to became agitated. The man allegedly threatened to bash the victim before picking us his bag. He then allegedly spat on the victim before leaving the store. Investigations are continuing.

It is alleged that, between 12pm on July 27 and 8.50am on August 9, whilst the victim was away, unknown offender/s have attended the address and gained entry by damaging a front window. Burglary charges, Brassall

Police have charged a man following investigations into the attempted burglary of an ATM at Brassall this morning.
Around 1.35am, it will be alleged a 58-year-old broke into a shopping centre bunker containing an ATM on Hunter Street.
It will further be alleged the man triggered the alarm while attempting to gain entry to the ATM.
The man was arrested with a number of items also located at the scene.
A 58-year-old Sadliers Crossing man has been charged with one count each of enter premises with intent, wilful damage and possess thing intended for use in connection with offence under 419/421 of the Criminal Code.
He is expected to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court tomorrow, August 14.
This man’s arrest does not appear to be linked to similar offences currently under investigation.
