Brookwater’s newest round of golf is a little different from the championship game the precinct is known for, with an 18-hole mini golf course now open for families, friends and visitors as the club celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Set among the area’s natural bushland, the course features 18 holes surrounded by native vegetation and sandstone-inspired landscaping. It has been designed for players of all ages and abilities, with games available during both the day and at night.
Brookwater Mini Golf officially opened on 7 August. The opening adds another way for people to spend time at a precinct long associated with championship golf.
A Different Kind Of Round At Brookwater
The new course sits alongside Brookwater’s Greg Norman-designed championship layout but is aimed at a broader mix of visitors.
Families can play a round together, groups of friends can take on the 18 holes, and people who come to Brookwater for dining or recreation now have another activity available within the precinct.
Brookwater Golf & Country Club has positioned the mini golf course as its newest attraction, with the facility designed to complement rather than replace the traditional golf offering.
Golf Australia has also linked the development with its BIG SWINGS 2026–2030 strategy, which includes a focus on creating different ways for people to engage with golf and building more inclusive and family-friendly experiences around the game.
The mini golf course fits that approach by offering a shorter, recreation-focused version of golf within the established Brookwater setting.
From Championship Golf To Family Recreation
The opening arrives during a milestone year for Brookwater Golf & Country Club.
The championship course opened in 2001 after being designed by Greg Norman. Twenty-five years later, it remains at the centre of the Brookwater precinct and was ranked among Queensland’s top three courses by Australian Golf Digest in 2026.
Springfield City Group founder and chairman Maha Sinnathamby said Brookwater had originally been planned as more than a golf course, with recreation, lifestyle and community use forming part of the wider vision for the area.
The mini golf attraction continues that direction by giving families and visitors another reason to use the precinct beyond the championship course.
Springfield City Group chief executive officer Raynuha Sinnathamby said Brookwater now catered for several types of visits, including championship golf, mini golf, dining and spending time with family and friends.
Brookwater Marks A Quarter-Century
Over the past 25 years, Brookwater has developed around its golf course, natural bushland and surrounding residential community within Springfield City.
The new mini golf course adds a smaller-scale recreation option to that setting while retaining the golf connection that has shaped Brookwater since 2001.
With all 18 holes now open for day and night play, Brookwater’s anniversary year is being marked not only by looking back at its championship course, but by adding a new way for families and visitors to play.
