Jubilee Ranger Guides keep safe with Karana Downs police
Officers from Karana Downs Police Station attended North Ipswich Girl Guides hall recently and gave a presentation to the Jubilee Ranger Guides.
The Jubilee Ranger Guides, ranging from 14 to 17 years old, were attaining their safety badges.
Police spoke to the guides about many different topics including their responsibility within the community, how crime affects people and the community, police powers of arrest, consequences of breaking the law, alcohol and drugs including offences and dangers.
Safety tips were provided on keeping themselves and their friends safe. Discussions were had around how they can have a sense of control through identifying options, making decisions and taking steps to enable them to feel as safe as possible in any situation.
