Prawn catches at risk from Brisbane Airport chemical spill
South-east Queensland prawn fishers already financially crushed by white spot disease are reeling for a second time in as many months after learning their catch could be affected by last week’s chemical spill from a Qantas airport facility.
Serious traffic crash, Silkstone (Ipswich)
Police are investigating a serious traffic incident that occurred in Silkstone this afternoon.
Initial information suggests around 1.15pm a man was struck by a bus on Blackstone Road near the intersection of Coolibah Street.
The man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
No one else was injured.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may be able to provide dashcam footage to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers.
