The more you give, the more you get! National Volunteers Week

The Ipswich District Crime Prevention Unit has 20 Volunteers in Policing providing an invaluable volunteer service across the Ipswich Police District.
The volunteers work with police to address customer service, community safety and crime prevention needs in the community. The range of tasks undertaken by volunteers complement and enhance the services offered by police and staff.
On behalf of the Ipswich District Officer Acting Superintendent Michael Ede and all staff across the Ipswich Police District we say thank you, not just this week, but for the 52 weeks of the year.
The Ipswich District Volunteers in Policing have contributed 500 hours of volunteer service just this year alone with over 11,000 hours since the Ipswich District program started.
Volunteers appreciated on Tuesday night. I thanked all of the NHW Volunteers across the District for their time and efforts and presented Volunteer in Policing Jan Morrissey with a National Volunteer Week Certificate. Volunteers were also acknowledge and thanked

Stolen vehicle alert, Friday May 12

In the past, many vehicles have been taken while the victims were at home. Keys, mobile phones and cash were also stolen after thieves allegedly gained entry to homes and easily located car keys in plain view.
Police advise that residents should secure their homes and vehicles to avoid opportunistic thefts. Hiding car keys and valuables will make it difficult for offenders to steal your vehicle and other property.
Ask yourself, “Where are my car keys?”
If you can secure your car in a garage or park your vehicle inside of your yard rather than on the street, this will also assist in the prevention of number plates being stolen.
