PSPA revoked, Raceview

An emergency situation under the Public Safety Preservation Act in Raceview this afternoon has been revoked.
Police were called around 2.10pm to an address in South Station Road to reports a man was armed inside the residence.
A PSPA was declared at 2.38pm and police have established an exclusion with negotiators and specialist officers attending the scene.
At 6.12pm the PSPA was revoked after a 31-year-old man was taken into custody without incident.
Police would like to thank residents and motorists for their assistance and cooperation.
Investigations re continuing.

Police negotiators and specialist officers are on scene.

Acts intended to cause GBH, Tivoli

A man is assisting Ipswich detectives following a serious assault in Tivoli.
Around 9.20am, police were called to an abandoned house on Black Street where they located a 60-year-old man of no fixed address covered in blood.
He was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with serious injuries including multiple rib fractures and a punctured lung. He is in a stable condition.
While at the house, a man approached police and was later questioned in relation to the assault.
It is expected a 46-year-old man of no fixed address will be charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and will appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court tomorrow.
