Christmas Road Safety – Festive Break Day 5 results
Seventeen people were caught without their seatbelts on while behind the wheel in Queensland on Day 5 of the Festive Break phase of the Christmas Road Safety campaign.
Since the beginning of Festive Break, 84 drivers have been caught without their seatbelts while driving their vehicle.
So far 339 drivers have returned positive tests for drink- and drug-driving over the Christmas period.
The highest reading across the state yesterday was a 45-year-old Orange woman who was charged with one count of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of driving unregistered, after allegedly returning a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of 0.245 per cent at Peregian Beach.
The state’s most high-risk speeding motorist was captured allegedly travelling at 201 km/hour in an 100km/hour zone on the Pacific Motorway at Slacks Creek.
