'Brazen' Irish scammers targeting elderly residents, small businesses in Queensland
Police are working with the Australian Border Force as they search for a group of “brazen” and “disrespectful” Irish tourists, who are accused of defrauding residents and stealing from businesses across south-east Queensland.
Attempted armed robbery, East Ipswich
Detectives are investigating after a man attempted to rob a supermarket in East Ipswich yesterday.
At 7.45pm, a man entered the business on Jacaranda Street and produced a knife.
He made demands for cash and the male attendant then struck him with a metal bar.
The man fled the scene empty handed and was last seen entering a car and driving south on Chermside Road.
Investigations are continuing.

Serious traffic crash, Minden
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious traffic incident in which three people were injured in Minden this afternoon.
Initial investigations indicate at 5.25pm, a vehicle was travelling westbound on the Warrego Highway when it lost control and rolled.
The female driver sustained serious injuries, and a male passenger suffered minor injuries. The pair was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
A boy was transported to the Lady Cilento Hospital in a critical condition.
Investigations are continuing.
