Community Safety: Crime Prevention Awards nominations now open

The Ipswich District Community Safety Crime Prevention Awards this year will be celebrated in conjunction with the 30 year celebrations of Neighbourhood Watch in Queensland and acknowledging the 30 year anniversary of Riverview Neighbourhood Watch the second Neighbourhood Watch area committee to commence in Queensland.
The Ipswich District Community Safety Crime Prevention Awards have been implemented by Ipswich District Crime Prevention Unit, Ipswich Volunteer area Committee of Crime Stoppers, Ipswich City Council, Ipswich District Neighbourhood Watch and Flinders District Scout Association.

The awards are an opportunity to acknowledge individuals and organisations who are campaigners within the community and who are working towards crime prevention and community safety. Nominations are now open for five award categories;

Community Engagement
Designing for a Safe and Healthy Environment
Drug and Alcohol Harm Reduction
Youth Engagement
Family Violence Prevention

Ipswich Crime Stoppers Race Day – It’s a Race against crime!

On Friday, August 10 the annual Crime Stoppers Race Day will be held at the Ipswich Turf Club, Bundamba gates open at 11.30am.
The Ipswich Volunteer Crime Stoppers Committee are saddling up in preparations for their annual Race Day.
The day will include fashions on the field, raffles and great prizes, gourmet BBQ buffet, drinks packages and track side lounge and dinning areas.
