Police are urging all motorists to spread the word about road safety during this year’s Road Safety Week, which this year runs August 27-31.
The Ipswich District Crime Prevention Unit, in partnership with the Ipswich City Council, Department of Transport and Main Roads and Ipswich PCYC, will be promoting Join the Drive’s ‘Speak Up For Road Safety – Road Rules Refresher’ campaign.
The aim of Road Safety Week is to raise awareness for all road users of the Fatal Five – speeding, drink and drug driving, seatbelts, fatigue and inattention/distraction – and refresh their road rules knowledge to improve safety for themselves and other road users.
Police urge the whole community to have their say about keeping safe on Queensland roads.
Ipswich Road Safety Week events will be held at numerous locations across the Ipswich Police District.
The main event will be the Ipswich Road Safety Expo at Fernvale Country Markets.
Where: Fernvale State School, Brisbane Valley
