Travelling these Easter Holidays?

The Easter holidays are around the corner and many families will be getting ready to embark on a family holiday visiting friends and family.
Currently north Queensland are experiencing heavy rains from Cyclone Nora, so its in your best interest especially when visiting family or when travelling great distances on Queensland roads you drive safely, plan your route and keep informed of the change in weather conditions.
Police urge you to do the following:

drive to the conditions of the road;
observe road rules;
obey speed limits;
don’t drink and drive;
avoid distractions and don’t use a mobile phone while driving;
wear seat belts ensuring all passengers are in their designated seats;
stop at designated car parks to rest and change drivers every two hours, utilise the Driver Reviver sites if they are in the direction of travel;
plan your travel ahead and pack a first aid kit; and
ensure that your car is mechanically sound and serviced.
