The Ipswich District Dogs on Patrol initiative has become a community favourite with not just our two legged friends but our four legged friends as well.
The Dogs on Patrol initiative commenced in the North Brisbane District and was successfully implemented at a number of locations across the Ipswich Police District last year. First to implement was Providence and South Ripley, then Redbank Plains and the Million Paws Walk.
Dogs on Patrol is a crime prevention initiative that provides strategies to members of the community who are out and about walking their dogs. The idea behind the initiative is for people to assist police by reporting crime and or providing a good description of suspicious persons or activities whilst they are out and about on their daily walk.
