World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is on June 15 and the Ipswich City Council, in partnership with the Ipswich and West Moreton Senior’s Services Network is helping to promote the day with a free seminar. The Ipswich District Crime Prevention Unit is proud to be a member of this network and participate in the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Activities.

World Elder Abuse Awareness day represents a day in the year when the world voices its opposition to the abuse and suffering inflicted on older people. World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is vital for raising awareness of what constitutes elder abuse in the community and provides an opportunity for the community and organisations to get actively involved in the prevention, detection and reporting of elder abuse.
