Bake sale, to raise much needed funds
As School Based Police Officer I joined Ipswich State High School for Bravehearts’ White Balloon Day during Child Protection Week.
This is our third straight year of fundraising for the event.
Bravehearts’ White Balloon Day is Australia’s only national awareness and fundraising campaign dedicated to preventing child sexual abuse through generating awareness to better inform adults about how to protect kids.
It is a crime that affects more than 60,000 children from all over Australia every year.
I use White Balloon Day as a platform to raise awareness and educate students about personal safety and support services available for victims of sexual abuse.
Fundraising for White Balloon Day has become a much-anticipated annual event for staff and students.
This year there were approximately 40 entries into the staff baking competition.
The competition guest judging panel included Senior Sergeant Margaret Cassidy from Ipswich District Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect team (SCAN), Associate
