Across the Ipswich Police district we are observing Seniors Week August 18-26 to celebrate seniors for their generosity of spirit and contribution to community.
Ipswich District Crime Prevention attended the Seniors Week Expo held at Rosewood and Ipswich to acknowledge seniors in the community.
Over 100 seniors gathered for a free luncheon provided by the Rosewood and District Support Centre at the Rosewood Cultural Centre where service providers, NGOs and Queensland Government representatives held static displays focusing on a variety of health and well-being support services to assist seniors in their everyday life.
Queensland Police Service provided a stall aimed at personal, property and home security and internet safety, delivering a presentation on Computer Security for seniors.
Further events held for seniors were at the Ipswich City Council Humanities Building, where seniors were also acknowledged and given useful information on service providers in their local area.
