There are two kinds of criminals that will target your vehicle and valuables:
The Opportunist thief
The Professional thief.
The opportunist thief either steals your vehicle to use as transport or breaks into your vehicle to steal items such as mobile phone, GPS, wallet, sunglasses, bag or cash.
The professional thief wants your vehicle for its parts or to re-identify it as another vehicle.
What should you do to stop them from stealing your vehicle?
Remove all valuables from the vehicle.
Don’t leave personal documents in your vehicle.
Lock all doors and windows, and remove the keys from the ignition even when your vehicle is parked in your driveway or garage.
If you own a van ensure sliding doors are locked.
If you own a Ute then remove all tools and equipment.
Consider fitting a car alarm, immobiliser, ignition shield or any available security devices to secure your vehicle.
Remove all spare keys and garage door remotes out of sight.
Mark your property
