Members of the Ipswich Community attended Department of Transport and Main Road making a pledge to keep safe on the road, for Fatality Free Friday. A National Road Safety Campaign to promote zero deaths on Australian roads for just one day.
To date over 221,000 road safety pledges have been signed in response.
Focusing on the Fatal Five: Speeding, Drink and Drug Driving, Seatbelts, Fatigue and Distraction, the Fatality Free Friday inflatable vehicle received well over 50 signatures in support of the campaign this morning, with some residents writing on their pledges, making a commitment and providing them to police.
They pledged to always be fit to drive, stay focused and scan the road ahead, keep a safe distance and drive to suit the conditions, removing all distractions.
