Silkstone State Primary School adopt their cop

There was a day of celebration recently at Silkstone State Primary School when they adopted Constable Adrian Solah to be their school’s Adopt-a-Cop (AAC).

Constable Solah seen here with the leaders of the school, is most excited about being apart of the schools community.
Some of his responsibilities will be to present police school programs like road safety, the role of police, cyberbullying and cybersafety, and personal safety and to attend their special assembly days, events and fete, as well as  providing the children with information that will keep them safe at their under ‘8’ days.
The AAC program operates on a voluntary basis with police officers visiting primary schools and in some cases high schools, to educate school children about the law and police duties.
It was introduced to help foster a positive relationship between police and students. Topics discussed include personal safety, bullying and road safety.
