Speed awareness has commenced around school zones across the Ipswich police district.
Ipswich crime prevention and volunteers in police are attending local schools to remind drivers that between 7am to 9am and 2pm to 4pm drivers are to be mindful of the 40km spped limit. It’s important to note that some schools maintain the 40km speed limit all day.
Being proactive and encouraging drivers to drive to the speed limit has resulted in members of the community showing their appreciation – waving or giving the thumbs up when they drive past.
The speed awareness program will be continuing right up to and including Easter, so if you see police show us your support and give us a wave.
