Fernvale Sunday markets share road safety message

Queensland Police in conjunction with the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service provided the local community with two demonstrations of the emergency services response to a road trauma.

The community were overwhelmed by the two demonstrations given by both the QPS and QFES during the day, with most attending the static displays asking question regarding standard drinks, and the Fatal Five.

Most tried the impairment goggles that provided an indication of what it would feel like to be over the limit of .05, including the QFES team.

Static displays provided by the Ipswich PCYC and Ipswich District Crime Prevention were inundated by visitors, who were keen to learn more about keeping safe on Queensland Roads.
The opportunity to witness first hand the response of emergency services in this environment raised questions that were answered by both the QPS and QFES.
A very successful road safety event.
