On Friday July 28, police from Karana Downs Police Station were invited to attend an event at Mt Crosby State School. The school was holding an event to help celebrate Strive To Be Kind Day, which aims to raise funds for the Allison Bayden-Clay Foundation.
The goal of the day is to educate the kids about healthy relationships, how to recognise and deal with unhealthy relationships and to understand domestic violence in all its forms.
Senior Constable Catriona Burnett and Constable Lorelee George were invited to say a few words on assembly and then took the time to speak with the kids after assembly.
Karana Downs Police will be supporting White Ribbon Day which is held on November 25 this year. This is an international day for the elimination of violence against women and acknowledging it is everyone’s issue to deal with.
