Police are urging all motorists to spread the word about road safety during this year’s Road Safety Week, commencing on Monday August 21 and concluding Sunday August 25.
The Ipswich District Crime Prevention Unit, in partnership with the Ipswich City Council, Department of Transport and Main Roads and Ipswich PCYC, will be promoting Join the Drive’s ‘speak up for road safety’ campaign, encouraging drivers to make a commitment.
The aim of Road Safety Week is to ‘speak up for road safety’ and raise awareness for all road users of the Fatal Five: speeding, drink and drug driving, seatbelts, fatigue and inattention/distraction.
Police urge the whole community to have their say around keeping safe on Queensland roads.
This year’s Ipswich Road Safety Week events will be held at numerous locations across the Ipswich Police District.
The main event will be the Ipswich Road Safety Expo at Ipswich Turf Club, 219 Brisbane Road Bundamba on Saturday August
