A man has been charged with numerous offences after police were able to track down an alleged stolen ute at a Collingwood park location by using the vehicle’s tracking device.
The ute was allegedly stolen from a Corunna Street business in Albion on July 22, after a man broke into its tool box and found a spare key inside.
Officers were able to determine the ute had been driven to a Collins Street address in Collingwood attended to execute a search warrant around 11am yesterday.
When police arrived, the vehicle allegedly drove around a tyre deflation device that had been pre-deployed, with the vehicle driving through the front yard of a home.
It is further alleged that the ute continued to be driven dangerously towards Redbank, and following a short pursuit, police located it abandoned in Middle Park.
